Unidentified Harvard at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
On 26th February 1943 this unidentfied aircraft crashed at Sherburn in Elmet airfield at 11.20hrs. Nothing more about the incident is known.
Pilot - F/Lt Balls RNZAF.
I initially had this incident logged as an A.F.E.E. incident but the record books do not list any Harvards being on charge with them on this date. 9 (P)A.F.U. were the biggest used of the 31 that were in the UK on this date although a number were still in M.U. storage so it may have been one of the M.U. aircraft being ferried around the country by No.7 Ferry Pilot Pool of the ATA who were at Sherburn as well as the A.F.E.E..
