At around midday on 21st July 1943 a 4 EFTS aircraft was force landed near Ellerker while the crew were undertaking a basic training flight in the Brough area. The pupil pilot sustained a broken nose. The unit ORB does not identify the aircraft involved and it probably sustained minor damage resulting in a repair on site or back at Brough.
