Unidentified aircraft near Shipton, York.
An entry in a railway occurrence book mentions that on 17th May 1943 an aircraft severed telegraph wires near Beningbrough railway station at around 12.00hrs. Telegraph wires were broken for several hours. Nothing more is known about this incident. The railway station was called Beningbrough but was actually at Shipton.
