Unidentified Wellington at Leconfield airfield.
The only reference to this incident that I have currently located is in the Driffield airfield record book "AIR28/222" which also covered Leconfield airfield at the time. This states that on 15th January 1943
a 466 Squadron aircraft crashed onto Beverley Road at 15.45hrs adjoining Leconfield aerodrome and that all the crew escaped injury. 466 Squadron were flying Wellingtons at the time. They were due to fly operational
sorties on the night of 15th January 1943 and this incident probably occurred during an airtest while preparing for this.
