Unidentified Halifax at Rufforth airfield.
On 13th November 1943 the Rufforth airfield record book makes mention that a Halifax overshot the runway on landing and ran into the boundary wire. Unfortunately the aircraft was not identified within that record book and there is no corresponding AM Form 1180 that relates to this incident. The aircraft was probably a 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft and it probably received very minor Cat.A/FA damage that may not have seen an AM Form 1180 being created for the incident. I have not yet managed to locate an AM Form 78 for a serving 1663 H.C.U. aircraft that could fit.
