Unidentified Auster at Clifton airfield.
The only reference to this incident that I have currently located is within a flying control logbook from Clifton airfield (AIR16/929). This states that an Auster crashed on landing at 16.50hrs on Sunday, 10th October 1943, the pilot was unhurt and the aircraft was slightly damaged. Both 658 and 659 Squadrons were based at Clifton at this time and this aircraft was probably one of these squadron's machines.
