No crew.
Wellington Z8519 was built to contract B.71441/40 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Weybridge and was received by 51 MU in November 1941. After a brief period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 305 Squadron at Lindholme on 12th April 1942. It sustained minor Cat.A(c)/FB damage as a result of the collision on 18th April 1942 and was repaired on site by a team from Fairfields and was returned to the unit on 6th June 1942. On 26th June 1942 the aircraft's AM Form 78 states that it sustained fairly serious damage but the squadron records do not make any mention of their being an incident involving the aircraft. It was used operationally on the night of 25th / 26th June 1942 without any mishap being recorded. The AM Form 78 states that the initial damage assessment was Cat.E/FB which would have written the aircraft off but a further damage assessment was made on 1st July 1942 that downgraded the damage to Re-Cat.B so it was transported to Castle Bromwich six days later for a repair in the Vickers factory. This repair took many months. It was received by 33 MU on 20th March 1943 and was then flown to Christchurch on 28th June 1943 to join a unit there but the AM Form 78 is difficult to read. On 23rd March 1944 it required a repair in works after an inspection so was taken to Vickers at Weybridge. The repairs appear to have been completed but on 7th September 1944 the aircraft was written off with Cat.E damage and was struck off charge on the same date.
