On 7th April 1942 this 3 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit aircraft was being flown on a daytime cross country training flight when the crew became lost in poor weather. The crew managed to locate Catterick airfield where made a landing at 12.00hrs but the aircraft overshot the landing area. Minor damage resulted to the aircraft but one of the engines sustained Cat.B damage which would suggest that one of the undercarriage legs collapsed.
