During the evening of 9th March 1942 this 51 Squadron aircraft was flown on a training flight using Dishforth airfield to practice night circuits and landings. At 22.15hrs the pilot made an approach to land but the appraoch speed was too fast, the aircraft touched down but would not stop in the available space. As the aircraft was overshooting the pilot attempted to ground loop but the aircraft only managed to turn itself aroung by ninety degrees and the undercarriage collapsed. Minor damage resulted.
