Hudson V9029 was built to B.P.C. contract A-68 by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, at Burbank, California, USA and was transported by sea to the UK, arriving at Liverpool Docks in July 1941. From there it was taken by road to the Lockheed Assembly Division (UK) Ltd, at Speke where it was assembled and tested. It was flown to 20 MU on 27th July 1941 and then taken on charge by 6 (C)OTU at Thornaby on 2nd August 1941. It sustained Cat.Ac/FA damage at Thornaby on 17th February 1942 which saw a repair on site. It returned to 6 (C)OTU use on 3rd May 1942. On 5th September 1942 it was transferred to 1404 Met. Flight at St.Eval where it served until 29th December 1942, either damaged flying or being deemed beyond economic repair during an inspection. It was then struck off charge on 1st February 1943.
