Blenheim V5886 was built to contract 1485/39 by Rootes Securities Ltd. at Blyth Bridge and was awaiting collection in January 1941. After a period of MU storage and preparation it was taken on charge by 54 OTU at Church Fenton. As a result of the mishap on 13th February 1942 the damaged was assessed and Cat.B/FA damage was recorded. It was then dismantled and transported by road to Airwork General Trading Ltd. at Renfrew for repair. After repair and a period of MU storage it was taken on charge on an unknown date by the A.F.E.E. at Sherburn in Elmet where it remained until finally being placed into MU store pending disposal towards the end of the war. It was eventually struck off charge as R.T.P. (returned to produce) on 2nd March 1945 which means all useable material was put back into the war effort.
