Oxford V3868 at Leconfield airfield.

At 12.00hrs on 23rd October 1942 this No.15 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit aircraft was having its engine run up on the ground at Leconfield airfield with a member of ground crew seated in the cockpit observing the instruments. It was noticed that the port brake pressure was low so the airman opened the starboard cockpit window, put his arm out and waved to another member of ground crew standing in front of the aircraft. Unfortunately as he waved, his left hand was struck by the starboard propeller. He was treated at Beverley Hospital for minor injuries.

"Pilot" - AC1 Albert Henry Nicole RAFVR (1426753). Injured.
