Tiger Moth T7843 at Brough airfield.

On 1st August 1942 this No.4 Elementary Flying Training School aircraft was struck by Tiger Moth T5670 a few feet off the ground at Brough airfield when both aircraft were coming in to land. The resulting crash wrecked both aircraft.

Pilot - LAC Ernest Charles Wilson RAFVR (1601523).

Instructor - P/O Oswald Etienne Rotherham RAFVR (115892).

Tiger Moth T7843 was built to contract 20916/39 by Morris Motors Ltd. at Cowley and was awaiting collection in March 1941. After an unspecified period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 4 EFTS at Brough. As a result of the collision there on 1st August 1942 Cat.E/FA was recorded after assessment.
