Tiger Moth T6031 at Hoyland Common.
On 15th May 1942 this 25 (P)EFTS aircraft was being flown on a training flight that involved the pilot undertaking general flying in the area of his home airfield
During the flight the pilot became lost in weather described as being 'fair', flying into poorer weather he opted to force land in a field near Hoyland Common, south of Barnsley at 12.45hrs. On landing the aircraft ran into a concealed furrow and the undercarriage collapsed.

Julian Kramarz must have been taken on pilot training not long after this incident in May 1942. He later remustered as an bomb aimer and was killed on 20th February 1943 while serving with 300 Squadron when Wellington BK305 crashed near Lincoln. He was twenty seven years old and is buried at Newark Cemetery.
