Beaufighter T5276 at Catfoss airfield.

At 22.25hrs on 8th November 1942 this 2 (C)O.T.U. aircraft swung on landing at Catfoss airfield, it seems likely that the starboard undercarriage collapsed as the starboard undercarriage and engine were damaged. The aircraft was repaired.

Crew - Names unknown.


Beaufughter T5276 was built to contract B.41906/39 by Fairey Aviation Ltd. at Heaton Chapel, Stockport and was awaiting collection in October 1942. It was immediately taken on charge by 2 (C)O.T.U. at Catfoss and sustained minor Cat.A/FA damage on 8th November 1942. It was repaired on site and continued to be used by 2 (C)O.T.U. until being lost on 3rd August 1943 when it was ditched off Hartlepool.
