Beaufighter T4760 at Leconfield airfield.
On 11th February 1942 the trainee pilot of this aircraft lost control on landing at Leconfield
and the aircraft swung off the runway and collided with a truck. It was damaged and after inspection it was deemed beyond repair.

Beaufighter T4760 was built to contract B.41906/39 by the Fairey Aviation Co. Ltd. at Heaton Chapel, Stockport and was awaiting collection in July 1941. After preparation at MU it was taken on charge on an unknown date by 2 (C)OTU at Catfoss. As a result of the mishap on 11th February 1942 Cat.E/FA damage was recorded and the aircraft was written off.
