Wellington R1236 at Finningley airfield.
On 22nd July 1942 this 25 O.T.U. aircraft appears to have been having work done on the tail and the aircraft's tail wheel was jacked off the ground. The jack collapsed causing minor damage to the aircraft and a burst rear wheel.

Wellington R1236 was built to contract 992424/39 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Hawarden and was awaiting collection in October 1940. The aircraft was received by 44 MU on 11th November 1940 and was taken on charge by 301 Squadron at Swinderby on 24th November 1940. The aircraft next appears on charge with 18 O.T.U. but the date they received it is unclear on the aircraft's AM Form 78. It may have been 26th October 1940. On 4th March 1941 it was assessed as damaged by No.43 Group D.A. which saw it transported to Vickers Service Aircraft Section for repair at Weybridge. With the repair complete in November 1941 it was passed to 8 MU and was then taken on charge by 16 O.T.U. at Upper Heyford on 8th March 1941. The aircraft was transferred to 25 O.T.U. at Finningley on 12th April 1942. As a result of the damage on 22nd July 1942 minor Cat.A(c)/FA was the assessment and it was repaired on site. The aircraft was transferred to 28 O.T.U. at Wymeswold on 13th September 1942 then to 22 O.T.U. at Wellesbourne Mountford on 19th September 1942 and finally 14 O.T.U. at Market Harborough on 15th November 1942. By early 1944 it may have been placed in MU storage pending disposal. It was struck off charge on 8th April 1944.
