On 9th August 1942 this aircraft taxied into a starter trolley at Driffield airfield and was damaged. No injuries are believed to have occurred and the aircraft was repaired.

Defiant N3485 was built to contract 751867/38 by Boulton & Paul Ltd. at Wolverhampton and was awaiting collection in January 1941. It was placed in long term MU storage before being taken on charge by 125 Squadron at Colerne on or around 16th June 1941 when the unit reformed after a period of 23 years. It then moved with the unit as they changed locations over the coming months, On 7th August 1941 to Charmy Down, on 24th Sepetmber 1941 to Fairwood Common and on 25th January 1942 to Colerne. In April 1942 125 Squadron began conversion to Beaufighter MkIIf's so the aircraft was transferred to 1484 Target Towing and Gunnery Flight at Driffield around this time. On 17th June 1942 this unit was re-designated 1484 Bombing and Gunnery Flight. as a result of the incident at Driffield on 9th August 1942 minor Cat.A/FA damage was as bad as the damage got. It was repaired on site at Driffield. On an unknown date it was placed in long term MU storage pending disposal and remained there until being struck off charge on 21st December 1944.
