Blenheim L1132 at Carnaby airfield.
On 6th April 1942 this aircraft's engine cut out when it was in a steep turn in the Carnaby area, it was badly damaged after a forced landing at
Carnaby airfield at 19.20hrs. The pilot is believed to have been slightly injured and the aircraft was damaged enough for it to be written off.

Blenheim L1132 was built to contract 527114/36 by The Bristol Aeroplane Co. Ltd. at Filton and was awaiting collection in March 1938. It was taken on charge as a brand new aircraft later the same month by 82 Squadron at Cranfield when the unit began converting to Blenhiem MkI's from Hawker Hind's. On 25th August 1939 it moved with the unit to Watton. Around 1st April 1940 it was taken on charge by 1 (C)OTU at Silloth when the unit formed and on 1st November 1940 it was transferred to 2 (C)OTU at Catfoss when 1 (C)OTU ceased operating Blenheim's. As a result of the crash in April 1942 at Carnaby Cat.E/FA damage was the assessment and it was written off.
