Blenheim K7130 at Catfoss airfield.

On 6th February 1942 this 2 (C)OTU aircraft was struck while parked by Blenheim T1810 at Catfoss airfield with both aircraft sustaining minor damage.

Blenheim TK7130 was built to contract 43506/35 by The Bristol Aeroplane Co. Ltd. at Filton as a bomber version and was delivered to 44 Squadron at Waddington on 17th December 1937. On 21st March 1939 it was transferred to 139 Squadron at Wyton. On 12th September 1939 it was flown to 19 MU at St.Athan where conversion to MkIf status took place. On 28th November 1939 it was taken on charge by 254 Squadron at Stradishall and then it moved to Sutton Bridge with them on 9th December 1939. It was slightly damaged on 17th January 1940 when the undercarriage was retracted in error on landing at Sutton Bridge. Cat.M/FA damage was the assessment and it was repaired on site and returned to the unit. On 5th August 1940 it was flown to 19 MU at St.Athan for storage. On 1st February 1941 it was taken on charge by 500 Squadron at Detling then on 6th May 1941 it was transferred to 404 Squadron RCAF at Thorney Island and moved with them to Castletown on 20th June 1941 and Skitten on 27th July 1941. It was transferred to 2 (C)OTU at Catfoss on 15th September 1941 and sustained minor Cat.A/FA damage there on 6th February 1942. It was repaired on site at Catfoss and was then slightly damaged there again on 27th August 1942 in a landing accident (probably) at Catfoss. Cat.A/FA damage was again the assessment and it was repaired on sit but repair took until 23rd October 1942 when it was returned to 2 (C)OTU charge. On 7th February 1943 it was finally transferred to 12 PAFU at Grantham and remained there until being struck off charge on 1st November 1943.
