Lancaster ED328 at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield.

At 11.35hrs on 15th December 1942 this 101 Squadron aircraft was being taxied at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield when the tail wheel developed a fault. The pilot stopped the aircraft safely without any further damage. An examination of the fault found that a modification had not been done to the aircraft and a technical fault had resulted in the tail wheel mounting cracking. This was a common fault with Lancasters at Holme on Spalding Moor during the later months of 1942.
