During the early morning of 3rd December 1942 the crew of this 76 Squadron aircraft flew an operational flight to bomb Frankfurt. They took off from Linton on Ouse at 01.05hrs. While over Germany the aircraft was held in search lights and damaged by flak in the wings and tail. The crew did not release their bombs over the target but jettisoned them and returned to base, landing at 08.50hrs. The squadron records suggest they landed at base of Linton on Ouse though I have a note it was made at Leeming though I have not any records that confirm it was.
