Halifax BB202 was built to contract B.124357/40 by the London Passenger Transport Board Ltd. at Leavesden. It was initially taken on charge by 103 Squadron at Elsham Wolds on 19th July 1942. It was then transferred to 103 Conversion Flight at Elsham Wolds on 25th August 1942 but on 31st October 1942 103 C.F. was absorbed into 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit at Lindholme. As a result of the damage sustained on 25th November 1942 minor Cat.Ac/FA resulted and it was repaired on site. It was returned to 1656 H.C.U. on 16th December 1942. The aircraft was transferred to 301 Ferry Training Unit at Lyneham on 19th September 1943 probably prior to a planned flight overseas (North Africa) but on 24th October 1943 it was written off following a crash at Lyneham which resulted in Cat.E2/FA damage after a collision with an inconsiderately planted tree. The aircraft was struck off charge on 4th November 1943.
