Anson AW916 at Finningley airfield.

The 25 Operational Training Unit orb states that on 15th July 1942 this aeroplane suffered the tail wheel collapsing while taxying after a night flying exercise. Minor Cat.Ac damage resulted. Nothing more about the incident is known.

Anson AW916 was built to contract B.137211/40 by A.V.Roe and Co. Ltd., at Yeadon and was awaiting collection in January 1942. The date it was taken on charge by 25 O.T.U. at Finningley is not known. As a result of the damage sustained on 15th July 1942 minor Cat.A(c)/FA damage was the assessment and it was repaired on site. The aircraft later appeared on charge with 12 P.A.F.U. at Grantham but by late 1944 was in an MU store. It was struck off charge on 13th November 1944.
