Oxford AT651 at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield.
On 2nd February 1942 this 1520 Beam Approach Training Flight aircraft collided with an M.T. vehicle on or near the perimeter track at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield while it was being taxied around the airfield. The frozen condition of the perimeter track and the M.T. driver giving the wrong signal were blamed for the incident. The starboard wing of the Oxford was damaged.
Pilot - P/O J F Marshall (possibly P/O Joseph Finlay Marshall RAF (46669)).
P/O Marshall was posted in to 1520 BAT Flight on 8th November 1941, just after it formed, from being a flying instructor at SFTS College Cranwell. If the same person then Joseph Finlay Marshall was later awarded the AFC and DFC.
