Unidentified Oxford "T.126" at Catfoss airfield.
The aircraft was probably not a 2 (C)OTU aircraft but a visiting aircraft belonging to another unit in the Yorkshire region that had landed at Catfoss. On 3rd November 1942 an Oxford swung on landing at Catfoss airfield at 16.30hrs and the port undercarriage and centre section of the aircraft were damaged. The aircraft's full identity is not yet known but it was possibly one of the "T126.." serial batch.
Crew - Names unknown.
As a footnote the only two Oxford of the ten between T1260 and T1269 that could have sustained damage here on this date were T1266 and T1267. Both were on the book with 6 (P)AFU at the time. The other eight have histories that suggest they were in store at the time, on charge with other air forces or already written off by this date.
