Unidentified Blenheim at Church Fenton airfield.
On 3rd April 1942 this aircraft crash landed at Church Fenton airfield sustaining what was described as "considerable" damage in the 54 OTU record book, the pilot escaped injury. The aircraft was probably repaired.
Pilot - Sgt Kenneth Milburn RAFVR (655851).
Kenneth Milburn was later posted to 141 Squadron flying night-fighter Beaufighters. He and his navigator / wireless (radar) operator Sgt John Allison RAFVR (1148679) were killed on 5th November 1942 when their Beaufighter crashed in Sussex. Sgt Milburn is buried in Darlington North Cemetery, Durham, he was twenty three years old.
