Ground accident at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 18th November 1942 a ground accident occurred at Linton on Ouse airfield. An aeroplane that was having salvage work done on it slipped off some jacks. Sadly one member of 78 Squadron ground crew was crushed and was killed while another man was injured.

The identity of the aircraft is not known. It is not recorded within the casualty file for the incident. 78 Squadron operated Halifaxes at the time and I have no suggestion to make as to which one it may have been.
