Unidentified Blenheim at Church Fenton airfield.
On 16th February 1942 the pilot of this aircraft was taking off to carry out a training flight when the aircraft swung
off the runway and crashed. The aircraft sustained considerable damage. The identity of the aircraft is not yet known other than it was a Mk.IV type.
Pilot - Sgt Edmund Roy Baggott RAFVR (1197405), of Leicester.
Sgt Baggott was killed only weeks after this mishap at Church Fenton while still training with 54 OTU. He died on 26th March 1942 when Blenheim R3808 crashed
at Church Fenton, the accident is detailed here. Sgt Baggott was twenty years
old, he is buried in Barwell Cemetery, Hinckley, Leicestershire.
