Unidentified Spitfire at Catterick airfield.
During the afternoon of 15th March 1942 this 332 Squadron aircraft was being flown on a training flight around the Catterick area. At 15.40hrs the aircraft made a heavy landing at Catterick airfield and broke off the starboard undercarriage leg but the applied full power and took off again. After flying around the general area for twenty minutes he tried to land on the port leg but when the speed decreased the aircraft settled onto the starboard side and minor damage resulted to the aircraft.

Olai Gronmark had earlier flown with 129 Squadron when he was was posted to 332 Squadron on 26th January 1942. He later flew with 180 Squadron and was awarded the British DFC as well as a number of Norwegian medals.
