Wellington Z8416 at Lindholme airfield.
On 15th December 1941 the crew of this 305 Squadron were undertaking a night-time take-off and landing training exercise around their home airfield of Lindholme. During one of the landings the aircraft made a heavy tail landing that broke off the tail wheel assembly.
Pilot - F/Lt Edward Pawel Zakrzewski (P.0062).
Crew - Names unknown.
S/Ldr Zakrzewski was killed on 12th May 1943 when Wellington BK353 of 18 OTU crashed near Grantham. He is buried at Newark Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.
