Whitley Z6474 at Dishforth airfield.
During the early hours of 24th April 1941 this 51 Squadron was being flown on a training flight. The aircraft landed at 02.33hrs at Dishforth and while taxying after landing the brakes failed. The pilot attempted to apply power to the engines to avoid another aircraft but the aircraft swung out of control which eventually led to the undercarriage collapsing.
