Hampden X3119 at Driffield airfield.

On the night of 11th / 12th February 1941 this 83 Squadron undertook an operational flight to bomb Bremen and took off from Scampton at 18.18hrs. The crew located and bombed the target area. Owing to thick fog the aircraft was diverted north and managed to find Driffield airfield. In poor visibility the aircraft landed at 02.10hrs but the aircraft overshot the landing and struck a pile of gravel on the airfield boundary causing damage to the aircraft.
