Wellington W5425 at Driffield airfield.
At 19.40hrs on 18th November 1941 this 104 Squadron aircraft made a normal landing at Driffield airfield during a training flight but the undercarriage was not locked down. The indicator in the cockpit showed a green light but was not working correctly. The undercarriage then collapsed on landing.
Pilot - Sgt Basil Andrew Adams RAFVR (1293087).
Basil Adams was killed on 15th January 1942 when 104 Squadron Wellington Z5417 was lost without trace. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
