Tiger Moth T7330 near Riplingham, Brough.

On 2nd November 1941 the pilot of this aircraft was carrying out a training flight to practice aerobatics. During this exercise he dropped to a much lower height than briefed and the aircraft stalled, being too low there was no height to try and recover from the stall and he was not able to fully recover control of the aircraft before it struck the ground to the south of Riplingham village at 10.10hrs.

Pilot - LAC W T Hardy RAF (1315343).

Nothing more is known about the pilot, it is possible that he was blamed for the accident and with him only being a basic trainee he may have been taken off pilot duties and hence no further record of him flying has been located. At the time of this accident he had flown a total of twenty four hours solo, with all the time being in the Tiger Moth type.
