Tiger Moth T7236 at Yeadon airfield.

On 1st November 1941 this 20 E.F.T.S. aircraft was being taxied at Yeadon airfield when it overturned after being taken downwind. The aircraft was badly damaged but it is believed it was later repaired. The pilot later continued his training with 36 S.F.T.S. at Penhold, Alberta, Canada from 24th January 1942 but left the course without completing it.

Tiger Moth T7236 was built to contract 20916/39 by The Morris Motor Co. Ltd. at Cowley and was awaititng collection in December 1940. In early 1941 it was taken on charge by 14 EFTS at Elmdon. On an unknown date in 1941 it transferred to 20 EFTS at Yeadon and as a result of the incident on 1st November 1941 Cat.B/FA damage was recorded. From Yeadon it was taken away by road and repaired in works. On completion of the repair it was taken on charge by 21 EFTS at Booker and on an unknown date it was transferred to 15 EFTS at Carlisle (Kingstown) where the aircraft remained on charge until the unit disbanded on 31st December 1947 and the aircraft was placed into long term MU storage awaiting disposal. It was struck off charge on 27th March 1950.
