Tiger Moth T5809 at Yeadon airfield.
On 25th November 1941 this 20 E.F.T.S. aircraft had just landed at Yeadon airfield following a training flight when
Tiger Moth T6596 struck it as it landed behind. Both aircraft were damaged but this aircraft was later repaired.
Pilot - LAC Max Brisk RAFVR (1128866).
Max Brisk received a commission to the rank of P/O on probation (emergency) on 3rd February 1944, he was promoted to F/O (war subs)
on 3rd August 1944 and F/Lt (war subs) on 3rd February 1946.
Tiger Moth T5809 built to contract 20916/39 by the Morris Motor Car Co. Ltd. at Cowley and was awaiting collection in June 1940. After a lengthy period of MU storage it was
taken on charge around 18th January 1941 when 17 EFTS formed at North Luffenham but on an unknown date in 1941 transferred to 20 EFTS at Yeadon. As a result of the collision at Yeadon
on 25th November 1941 Cat.B/FA was the assessment, it was dismantled and transported by road for repair in works. the history of the aircraft is very vague from this point onwards.
At some point it was taken on charge by 9 EFTS at Ansty and finally served with 21 EFTS at Booker. A period of MU storage followed whilst it was sat awaiting disposal. On 27th March
1950 it was sold for scrap.
