Tiger Moth T5540 at Brough airfield.
On 6th March 1941 the pilot of this aircraft was coming into land at Brough airfield following a training flight when it collided with another unidentified Tiger Moth, with the pilot of that aircraft also landing following a training flight. Both aircraft crashed and while the unidentified one received less serious damage T5540 was assessed on site and deemed beyond repair. Both pilots survived.

Tiger Moth T5540 was built to contract 20916/39 by Morris Motors Ltd. at Cowley and was awaiting collection in May 1940. After a lengthy period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 4 EFTS on an unknown date. It sustained Cat.E damage as a result of the incident on 6th March 1941.
