Whitley P5027 near Holme on Swale.

On 25th March 1941 this 51 Squadron aircraft was being test flown when a blade on the port airscrew broke off in the air. The pilot shut down the port engine but because the aircraft would not maintain height on just one engine a forced landing was made at 12.20hrs with the undercarriage retracted near Holme on Swale, near Pickhill.
