Tiger Moth N6614 was built to contract 778402/38 by the De Havilland Aircraft Co. Ltd. at Hatfield and was awaiting collection in January 1939. It was initially placed in long term MU storage until being taken on charge by 42 E & RFTS when the unit formed in August 1939 at Squires Gate where it was operated by Reid & Sigrist Ltd. The unit disbanded a month later on 3rd September 1939 and the aircraft was once again placed in MU storage. It next appeared on charge with 12 E.F.T.S. at Prestwick but no date is given in the published history. It was then on charge with 4 E.F.T.S. at Brough, but again no date for when it was taken on charge is given. As a result of the incident on 25th February 1941 minor Cat.A/FA damage would have resulted and a repair on site would have been made. The aircraft continued to serve with 4 E.F.T.S. until being finally placed in MU store pending disposal. The aircraft was struck off charge as 'sold' on 7th March 1950. It was sold to W.A.Rollason Ltd and registered on UK civilian register as G-AJXN. They then sold it to the Thai Navy on 19th February 1951.
