Tiger Moth N6523 at Brough airfield.
On 20th March 1941 this aircraft was parked at Brough airfield when it was struck by a crashing Whitley Z6471 of 612 Squadron that had landed there. The Tiger Moth was badly damaged and was deemed beyond repair.
No crew.
Tiger Moth N6523 was built to contract 778402/38 by The de Havilland Aircraft Co. Ltd. at Hatfield and was awaiting collection in December 1938. It was taken on
charge on an unknown date in 1939 by 11 E&RFTS at Perth (and based at Scone). On 3rd September 1939 this unit was re-designated 11 EFTS. The aircraft transferred from
them to 4 EFTS at Brough during 1940 and Cat.E/FA damage was recorded as a result of the incident detailed above in March 1941.
