Magister N3861 at Church Fenton airfield.
On 6th December 1941 this aircraft had landed at Church Fenton airfield when it was caught in a gust of wind and tipped up onto the nose. Following
inspection it was deemed beyond repair and written off. Why the aircraft was at Church Fenton is not yet known.

Magister N3861 was built to contract 778435 by Phillips & Powys Ltd at Woodley (Reading) and was delivered to MU storage on 5th December 1938 at 9 MU at
Cosford. On 6th November 1939 it was taken on charge by 245 Squadron and then moved with them a number of times as they moved airfields. On 12th May 1940 it moved
with the unit to Drem, on 5th June 1940 to Turnhouse, on 20th July 1940 to Aldergrove, on 14th July 1941 to Ballyhalbert, on 1st September 1941 to Chilbolton, on 17ht
November 1941 to Warmwell and on 23rd November 1941 back to Chilbolton. As a result of the wind damage at Church Fenton on 6th December 1941 Cat.E2/FA was the assessment
and it was struck off charge on 30th December 1941.
