Hampden AD730 at Lindholme airfield.

At 12.30hrs on 26th January 1941 this 50 Squadron made an approach to land at Lindholme airfield when the pilot mistook the runway for the perimeter road. A landing was made on the perimeter road and the aircraft damaged it's tail wheel when it struck a heap of stones. The stones were part of construction work on the road that had ceased owing to poor weather. Snow may have been laid on the ground at the time. 50 Squadron did not fly operationally on this date so theis must have been some form of non-operational flight.
