Unidentified aircraft (probably a Blenheim) at Church Fenton airfield.
On 16th April 1941 an enemy aircraft attacked the airfield at Church Fenton while night flying practice was being carried out. The 54 OTU record book states that a training aircraft
crashed landed during this action but its identity is not yet known. Over eighty incendiary bombs were dropped in the area of the airfield. There is possibly a date-error in the transcription and it could possibly read 26th April 1941, research on going.
