Hampden X2896 damaged in the air, returned to Lindholme airfield.
On the evening of 14th September 1940 the crew of this 50 Squadron aircraft were detailed to bomb Ostend harbour and took off from Lindholme airfield at 21.05hrs. Not long after taking off the aircraft lost the lower rear door so the crew turned around and landed at Lindholme at 21.55hrs.
