At 21.00hrs the aircraft landed but overshot the flare path, the airfield surface was wet and the aircraft skidded when the brakes were applied. It ran into a section of the airfield where construction work was being carried out. The starboard engine and undercarriage were damaged when it ran into an uncovered pit or ditch.
