Anson N9918 at Thornaby airfield.
At 12.00hrs on 28th December 1940 this 608 Squadron aircraft was about to take off and was being taxied around Thornaby airfield for this purpose with a slight downhill slope and with a slight tailwind when the brakes failed. Exactly what occurred is not stated on the AM Form 1180 but the end result was that the undercarriage collapsed.
