Tiger Moth N6941 at Brough airfield.

On night of 5th/6th December 1940 this aircraft almost certainly damaged in the gales at Brough. It is listed as being struck off charge on 11th December 1940 and there was no other accident in the days between the two which would fit for it being damaged in any other way.

Tiger Moth N6941 was built to contract 778402/38 by the De Havilland Aircraft Company Ltd. at Hatfield and was awaiting collection in July 1939. After a period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 4 EFTS at Brough on an unknown date in 1940. After the gales at Brough it was initially assessed and given Cat.R damage but it was not repaired and struck off charge soon after on 11th December 1940 as beyond economic repair.
