Tutor K3465 at Topcliffe airfield.

On 5th November 1940 this aircraft was landed at Topcliffe airfield downwind, it ended up coming to rest upside down and sustained damage. The aircraft was probably the Station's run-about aircraft.

Tutor K3465 was built to contract 195190/32 by A.V.Roe Ltd, at Woodford and was delivered to 2 ASU at Cardington on 2nd July 1935. It remained in storage at the ASU for two years until being taken on charge by Oxford University Air Squadron at Abingdon on 17th June 1937. It was transferred to the Station Flight at Driffield on 21st September 1939 and later moved to Station Flight at Topcliffe though the date for this transfer is not known. Following the accident at Topcliffe Cat.R/FA damage was declated. It was dismantled and transported by road to Lundy & Atlantic Coast Airlines at Barnstaple for assessment and possible repair but here it was re-assessed as Cat.W/FA and struck off charge on 13th February 1941.
