Ground accident at Brough airfield.

On 21st July 1940 the 4 E.F.T.S. record book states that there was a fatality on the tarmac at Brough airfield when a rotating propeller struck an airman. I have yet to identify the aircraft involved.

? - Sgt Joseph Ernest Catchpole RAFVR (754642), aged 23. Born Kent. Buried Elloughton Churchyard, Yorkshire.

This individual does not have an AIR81 casualty file at the National Archives, all RAF deaths in RAF aircraft appear to have had a file. I would presume from that he was flying in one of the civilian operated and registered Blackburn aircraft in use at Brough at that time.
